2.4. 2011

After his critically acclaimed albums Continental Dinner and Worn Out Dreams Forestfield wanted to make a concept album.

”This record is a bit more acoustic than the previous two. I wanted to write about the the truth, the man’s personal truth. This is the 21st century and the world has become smaller than ever and you have millions of truths around you all the time.
Yes, mostly it’s all good but sometimes it may get too tough to handle all of them at once. Especially if you plan to become a dictator. Anyway, I wanted to make a record that has a floating feeling.

Carl Perkins’ Dance Album from 1958 is one of my all time favorite records, but I think this record isn’t my dance album, it’s rather my easy chair album.

The record is distributed by Töölön Musiikkitukku, Helsinki, Finland.

As a bonus material there’s a music video of Small Town Hero.

The main theme on the record is tragedies in people's relationships and surviving by hitting the bottom.

But they are always offered with bits of Forestfield's

own kind of half invisible humour, to be found at least

in between the lines. The last of the record's 13 songs, "Hangover in Hannover", has already reached some

kind of cult status in Germany after it was released on an illegal blues collection by a bootleg label from Berlin.

You might find Continental Dinner as a pleasant

listening if you dig some of the artists like Guy Clark, Johnny Cash, John Lee Hooker, Ry Cooder, Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Nick Lowe, Howling Wolf, John Hiatt, Chuck Berry, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Arthur

Alexander etc.
