Hollow Soul is out now!

It's Forestfield’s fourth solo album and second one released by Pilfink. “Some thought my last album One Truth Town was a political record. Well, if this one is, it’s political in wide meaning of the word, talking about outsiders of their own lives. Your own couch is one of the most miserable places to be an outsider.” Record is also more musically varied than its predecessor. “I wanted some horn section in some songs, combination of accordion and organ here and there and in one song we used echo as an instrument, a bit the way they did on Dub records. A couple of songs we stripped down totally.”

There’s 15 Forestfield songs on the record and one of them, “Keep My Style”, is recorded once before by Mickey And The Students for their album Some People(Mufarang, 2009). “I always wanted to make my own different version of it, and now the time was right.”

As a gift there will be also a 12 song acoustic bonus album called Gone Cowboy Session ?/?/2010 (official bootleg). Cd buyers will get a code which allows to download the bonus album from Forestfield's web page.

Dave has completed the mixes

of his new album. While being Dave’s 4th solo album, it will be the second Forestfield release by Pilfink Records, a company which has been increasing its volume EU, USA and Japan. The date of release isn’t confirmed yet, but it looks like the album will be out during the spring. Among 13 original compositions there will be “Keep My Style”, a song Dave wrote for Mickey And The Students back in 2007.

After his critically acclaimed albums Continental Dinner and Worn Out Dreams Forestfield wanted to make a concept album.

”This record is a bit more acoustic than the previous two. I wanted to write about the the truth, the man’s personal truth. This is the 21st century and the world has become smaller than ever and you have millions of truths around you all the time.
Yes, mostly it’s all good but sometimes it may get too tough to handle all of them at once. Especially if you plan to become a dictator. Anyway, I wanted to make a record that has a floating feeling.

Carl Perkins’ Dance Album from 1958 is one of my all time favorite records, but I think this record isn’t my dance album, it’s rather my easy chair album.

The record is distributed by Töölön Musiikkitukku, Helsinki, Finland.
